It will be a waste of time for you and me.

“Do you want to use my calendly link to find a time that will work?”

I get this email often. Usually, from people who invite me to connect with them on LinkedIn. Usually, from people who try selling me something I don’t need. Usually, from people who ask me for favours.

Usually, from people who try to save their time at my expense.

They try to save time by outsourcing their effort.

Without seeking this connection, I now have to open and read the email. Agree to meet. Go into their calendly link. Select the time by cross-referencing my calendar. And finally, send a link to myself and the other person on their behalf.

Click. Click. Click.

My customer experience? It’s bad.

The first impression you’ve made is you don’t care about me as a person. You don’t care about me as a customer. You think your time is more valuable than mine. You don’t care if I buy your product or not.

So, why should I care to spend my time on you?

Efficiency is excellent, but not at the expense of human connection.

So when you ask me: “Do you want to use my calendly link to find a time that will work?”

The answer is “I don’t.”
